A word about paper and condition,
Every care is taken in the removal of advertisements but many times double page ads will have staple holes, if the pages are still joined this cannot be avoided. Paper condition varies immensely over time, some paper items may look brown in fact this is common in even the best-kept magazines and is a problem for old comic book collectors. Browning is typical of many magazines that used newsprint quality paper such as Life, Colliers, Popular Mechanics etc, browning is age-related paper deterioration resulting from destruction of the organic polymers in the paper by sunlight and absorbed atmospheric pollution, typically causing the paper to go brown and sometimes crumble at the edges. Cheaper paper such as newsprint is manufactured without neutralizing acidic contaminants, which also causes browning. Some magazines used a higher quality white paper that was much more durable and did not brown over time, older Popular Mechanics magazines often used this for their feature articles, because the paper appears white does not mean it is not old.
