Boscombe Down, is a large airfield situated on the chalk uplands of Salisbury Plain and was without doubt one of the most closely guarded and secret places in Great Britain during the Second World War, indeed remaining so till the present day. It is in fact the base for A&AEE: Aeroplane and Armament Experimental Establishment. It is only with now with the expiry of 'The 30 Year Rule', that the secrets of war years between 1939 - 45 that the wartime secrets have been declassified and are covered comprehensively in this volume.
