    Description

The original NuGrape was invented by John James Mangham in 1906. This Nu-Icy Brand was started in 1927.  The NuGrape brand is a grape flavored soda pop. It was first bottled in 1921 You might even find a bottle at Cracker Barrel Restaurants.
In the early days, the manufacturing process of these bottles was very primitive. But that's what made these bottles so beautiful. The bubbles, internal marks, and uneven bottom made these bottles easy to date.
This bottle may have once contained their orange drink.  This bottle states, "Nu-Icy A Flavor You Can't Forget" embossed on both front and back. Embossed is a star with the writing inside, on both sides. The ribbing adds an attractive touch. The bottle is 9 1/4" tall and 8 oz.
This bottle was made by the Chattanooga Glass Works, and is dated 1928. This glass bottle maker used this "Chatt 28" from 1920 to 1930's. This style of bottle was patented in 1920, as stated on the bottom edge.
The bottle is in very good shape and very clean. It looks to be never used.
