PBS Mobil Mystery Theater Presents

1985 PBS
MYSTERY
Poster
featuring
Charters & Caldicott
from the
BBC/PBS television series starring
Robin Bailey & Michael Aldridge
.
This
Charters & Caldicott
poster, created by world renowned
artist Seymour Chwast and the Pushpin Group, is one of the
rarest of all PBS Mystery posters and is nearly impossible
to find today. One reason for this is that the series aired
for only one season in 1985. Very few of these posters
ever make it to auction. Most are found in galleries or
private collections. This could very well be the only
opportunity you'll have to purchase an original PBS
Charters & Caldicott 1-sheet. I can't remember
ever seeing another one offered on eBay, the
poster is that rare! This is not only a
beautiful work of art but a shrewd
investment whose value will
surely increase over time.

Charters & Caldicott
is a 1985 BBC mystery series featuring the characters
Charters and Caldicott from the Alfred Hitchcock film
The Lady Vanishes
(1938). The series featured six 50 minute episodes broadcast on BBC1.
It was then brought Stateside by Network 7 Productions for PBS.
The series plot features Charters & Caldicott in their retirement. Caldicott lives
in the splendid Viceroy Court in Marylebone, while Charters is a widower living
in a country cottage near Reigate, travelling up to his Pall Mall club on a
Green Line bus (hailing it on the street as if it were a taxi). When a
young girl is found murdered in Caldicott's flat, the two friends
forsake their regular Friday lunch and cinema visit to
involve themselves in a spot of derring-do.
Note that this poster was never folded!
An unfolded poster is almost always
far more difficult to find than
a folded poster of the same
title, and finding unfolded
vintage posters in very
good to fine condition
is nearly impossible!
This amazing Poster comes rolled in a heavy duty
protective tube.  It should be linen-backed
and framed by a professional.  Backing
and framing adds value to Artwork.
So spend a little extra and
have it done right.
