    Walt Disney Rarities Mint Commem. Sorcerer's Apprentice in 1 Troy Oz. .999 Gold
    OBVERSE—In 1986, Disney contracted with Rarities Mint, in Anaheim, CA., to produce various Disney characters in .999 Gold & Silver. Mickey Mouse was featured in the 1940 classic animated film Fantasia as the Sorcerer’s Apprentice and has remained a favorite to this day.
    REVERSE—Although minted in .999 Fine Gold, and over the years, I have noticed that almost all of these coins have developed minor copper/red toning marks here and there. This is NOT caused by improper storage, etc., but simply by impurities in the Gold alloy mixture probably by some dissolved copper when it was melted into a Gold planchette prior to striking.
    Certificate of Authenticity revealing the rather low Serial Number, it’s assay purity, the character and the date of issue.
    This 1 Oz. Gold coin was issued in a double air tight capsule with a felt jewelry style box with the Certificate of Authenticity and a white cardboard slip case.
