The story of an RAF Fighter Wing in South East Asia immediately after the war and the assignment they were given to rescue tens of thousands of Allied POW and internees incarcerated in appalling conditions since the fall of Singapore.  The RAF were allowed two Dakotas a day to fly into the interior and bring out internees who had suffered grievously.  This humanitarian task lasted until the latter part of 1946.
